Just saying: CHANGE

Another insightful saying from the book Everyday Psychology, by Dr Steve Edwards.

We live in a  world where the ultimate certainly has become the inevitability of change.” — Denis Blocher.

Dr Edwards comments: This saying by Denis Blocher, a guidance psychologist, conveys probably the most outstanding feature of our contemporary modern world. This is also clearly brought out by Futurists  such as Alvin Toffler, who talk about accelerating “waves of change.”

Radical quantitative and accelerating change, along with violence, revolution,  alienation, technocracy and loss of spirituality, are characteristic of today. Change is also an everyday essential human and individual reality. From an experiential point of view, everything changes but in different ways, degrees, durations, appearances, intensities, etc.

As the Greek Sage Heraclitus said:  “One cannot step into the same river twice.” Psychologically, one can only return to the previous in memory.

  1. Appropriate assumption !!! We all have had to, and still have to, change . If one lives and thinks the same way, nothing will change and you as a person, will stagnate where you are.
Think of all the changes that have occurred in one’s life time. Mind boggling.
